Dave Hammers Little BigHorn!

With a sound punching well aboveu its weight, this 8-tet features brass, loads of saxes, the intense rhythms of jazz, soul, Latin and world music's and all of it bound together by Dave Hammer’s vibes, baton and transcendent energy! Expect a continuation of our progressive trajectory inc original funk, jazz and soul alongside dynamic arrangements of music by Gary Burton, Tom Scott and even some Frank Zappa to go into the mix!

Celebrating the birthday of bebop pioneer Big Nick Nicholas

The Universal Rhythm Ensemble is an exciting new group helmed by four young musicians active on the London jazz scene: Together, they form a sharp quartet playing rhythmic and colourful compositions that reach far inside and outside of the jazz cannon. Their sound has a groove-laden and gathered feel, late night music for late night people, an eclectic and warming melting pot of Afro-Latin rhythms; jazz; fusion; funk; even Detroit techno and broken beat interpolations.

"Squabble" with a funky jazz groove, influenced by the soul jazz greats of the 1960's and 70's, infused with infectious rhythms, hooks and melodies. A six piece band comprising Hammond organ, sax/trumpet, guitar, bass, drums and percussion. Organ‑led soul‑jazz session and a soulful jazz‑funk set — all with vinyl interludes, two live sets in the afternoon, a welcoming social vibe, food and a heated garden for relaxed listening or dancing.

Kihaya Blues 26th July

Blending the sounds of Afro, Funk, Blues, Soul, Latin and Jazz into the Dancefloor. Kyazi Lugangira, creator of Kihaya Blues, is a Tanzanian singer songwriter, composer and guitarist. Love, relationships, politics and hope, are the core topics within the lyrics sang in Kihaya, the language of Kyazi's tribe, the Bahaya people from Kahera Tanzania. Following the release of the debut studio album " Abantu Bange" (Our Humanity) we look forward to hearing them at Jazztrain Shoreditch.

Grupo Martillada is a compact vibes-led quintet with the BIG sound! Combining edgy New Yorican sophistication with the classics of Latin and contemporary jazz, it’s the sound of percussive melodic energy!

The band has come together from across the musical spectrum of session players stylistically and literally from around the world of Latin, pop, soul, the jazz legacy Dave Hammer (USA/UK)- vibraphone/percussion Roberto Pla (Colombia/UK)- timbales/bongos/percussionSatin Singh (India /UK)- congasSeb Singh (India/UK)- piano/vocalsMichael Dunlop (UK!/UK!) - double bass

Dado Pasqualini band Sunday July 5th

Davide ‘Dado’ Pasqualini, versatile drummer and percussionist with a taste for fusion jazz, world, and funk influences and whose sound is a vibrant blend of Latin, funk, soul, and jazz . Delivering a dynamic repertoire with amazing musicians consisting of original compositions and jazz standards.
