Grupo Martillada is a compact vibes-led quintet with the BIG sound! Combining edgy New Yorican sophistication with the classics of Latin and contemporary jazz, it’s the sound of percussive melodic energy!
Featuring Vibraphone virtuoso Roger Beaujolais Plan B3 aim to explore the musical and sonic possibilities of the highly versatile but unusual lineup of Hammond organ, guitar Vibraphone and drums, with Simon Fernsby on guitar Tristan Mailliot on drums Pete Whittaker on Hammond organ they will perform tunes in the Bebop , Blues, Funk and jazz rock idioms, with elements of psychedelia and fusion

Zach Sewell is a London-based saxophonist and composer, whose quintet is defined by rhythmically exciting writing and intense band interplay. Their original compositions reflect a varied pool of influences from jazz, gospel and the avant-garde, creating an exploratory and dynamic sound. Performing all-original music. Featuring fearless interplay, complex and boundary-pushing.

22 Nov "Simon Woolf's Jazz Cello Quartet"
Cello bassist Simon Woolf, following in the footsteps of Oscar Pettiford, picks up the cello to take centre stage for his return appearance at Jazz Train. Sharing the spotlight will be Ray Gelato's star tenor sax man Olly Wilby with backing provided by two leading lights of the vibrant Brighton jazz scene, Terry Seabrook on organ and rising star Joe Edwards on drums.
8th Nov Nat Steele Quartet
Occupying that modernist jazz space somewhere between the Modern Jazz Quartet's intricate tonal lyricism and the swinging moods of a West Coast vibe, Nat Steele re-introduces the cool jazz-cum-chamber jazz situation. Long, unbroken lines of vibraphonic virtuosity accompany his repertoire's pulsating and swingin' late '50s-influenced orientation. He'll be laying on the hip cuts from his new album "Afternoon In Paris: The Music of John Lewis & The MJQ". Prepare to have your chilled minds blown as Jazztrain Shoreditch and Nat Steele take you on a deeply swung Sunday.

The Hoxton West Organ Combo is a groovy affair. Dusty sounds take on a wholesome repertoire that includes funky jazz, vintage Brazil and lilting standards. Prepare to be enveloped by the aural scatter cushion that is this combo's mood – big vintage tones and deeply dug melodicism will keep your Sunday chilled and interesting.
